About Being Dyslexic

I created Being Dyslexic when I was 20 years old. After going through school and being unrecognised as dyslexic I was suddenly faced with finding as much information as possible on the subject before I went to University to study Business Management. This was when I hit a brick wall, there just wasn't enough accurate information... You can read more about 'My Story' here.

Sam - Being Dyslexic Developer

Being Dyslexic was Born

That is why I decided to try and make life a little bit easier for the hundreds of parents, students and adults that had dyslexia in their lives.

In recent years I have noticed more and more that there is a substantial number of people who either have dyslexia or are involved with it but just don't know how to access the right information. At work colleagues have mentioned to me that they have never known whether they are stupid or just dyslexic, and if they are, what they can do about it.

In life parents are constantly battling to get the right support for their children, fighting LEA's who try and avoid financial commitments.

At school and University teenagers and young adults should be receiving more support, which would enable them to achieve their best but aren't because they simply don't know what's available to them.

Being Dyslexic aims to provide information that covers all of those topics respectively.

Being Dyslexic uses Google Adsense to generate enough income to maintain the costs of running a website of this size. All profit after expenses is donated to the British Dyslexia Association. At present our costs are quite high due to the installation of a new forum and online shop.
