In a priviouse post i asked what shape and colour would you describe your dyslexia to be.
All of the responses on this forum and on the hive forum at BeesTheWrongWayRound.com are brilliant and i really enjoyed reading them.
I'm wondering now if you were to give our dyslexia a name what would it be.
I have been thinking about this for a while now and think that i would call my dyslexia 'George' as for me this is a mature name and strong name. And as i know my dyslexia very well i feel that this is the best name i could chose.
what name would you give your dyslexia and why (sounds like a blind date question)

I agree that “George is a mature and strong name”, so that’s exactly why I wouldn’t call my dyslexia George.
I would call my dyslexia “David” my little boy bullied at school name.
Or “Day-vut” as they pronounce it in North-Norfolk.
See Geebs’ story in “Introductions”

Can't quite decide at the moment, I think becouse its like an old man, that wears alot of grey, really.
you know the sort, thinks all young people should be locked in a shed until they stop lisening to music and wearing caps, always shows there front and back garden at open garden shows (sorry if you see your self in this or your name is Clive or Bernard in which case please egnor me as I obviusly don't know you otherwise by this point you would have changed my mind on these names)
no seriusly becouse this describes my problem, its the grey thing that has always stood in the way and made have to work harder to achieve what I want to achieve and show myself to the world.
Sorry reading it back, makes you kind of want to slit you wrists I know, however its really what I think about my dyslexia.

I might call it Elsie. It makes me think of some one sweet and giggly, like an imp with a small attention span who likes playing tricks on you, but then once they have tripped you up will look at you with puppy eyes and you have to forgive them. Elsie is a bit spiteful and flitey and definately doesn't like to do what she's told. You have to do things her way as she's increadibly selfish or trick her into doing things you want her too by being really cunning. she also has a green dress and brown hair like princess Liea. I have no idea why, as soon as I thought elise thats what I saw.
I rather like Elsie she's ecentric and a bit odd like me, but at the same time I want to strangle her.

Hello....I wuold name it "thorn"...Becasue I consider it a "thorn in my flesh".... like Paul in teh bible did, I've asked teh Lord to remove it on more than one accaision. I guess if someone as awesome as Paul was wuold need something to keep him from becoming conceeeded or arogent, why wuold I be any diffenert? I know becasue of this so called "thorn" I depend on teh Lord alot for wisdom reguarding things I myself cant grasp teh concepts of. Teh Lords awesome power has been demonstarited to me in my most vulenrable of situations. Even so, I'm sure I will ask time and time again that it be removed. Even thuogh Pauls "thorn" remained, doesnt mean mine nesseccarily will. I'm truly beleiveing that one day I will be able to do teh things I've dreamed of. Weither its a devine miricle and I wake up and its gone, or he uses some awesome new mothod someone developed, either way is cool with me. If teh "thorn" remains, I will still do my very best to pleese my Lord and bring glorey to him. I will take what I do have, teh talents I've been given and
Thorn is such a great name because it describes the pain that is ongoing with this disablility. I'm 46 and when I was in school they only gave you help in elementary school because the thought was " She should grow out of that" Well at 46 I manage with great difficulty and it takes me a lot longer than other people to get the same task done. Perhaps God will take away our thorn I wish it would come soon.

Holistic thinking is where patterns are recognized in vague ideas. The ideas need to be turn up side down and inside out to work out what the hole is.
An expression of Holistic thinking could be seen as in drawings and models to explain the hole but is not limited to.
A Holistic tendency creates creativity and new ideas and theories which is probably why Einstein used this system.
Another way of looking at this would be a sergeant major knows what to do and dose it, but can not create something new till he has been told what to do.
Where to a creative to make something new will have to work with trial and error and recognize when it works.
"Vagueness is sometimes a virtue, and clarity is sometimes a vice" to a Holistic thinker
